WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is designed for children between ages 5 – 12. Children younger than age 7 need to be accompanied by an adult.
The course starts with a gentle walk to pick a few key easily identifiable wild foods and garden herbs & flowers such as nettles, blackberries, wild garlic, elderflowers, wild strawberries, sorrel, nasturtium flowers, roses, crab apples & elderberries. Some identification tips will be given and it will be strongly emphasised that there are poisonous species in the wild. Children will be told to only eat leaves if they check with an adult first.
The foraging trip will be followed by a 1.5 hour cooking session where we will prepare our lunch.
