FEAST n. A large, elaborately prepared meal,
usually for many persons and often with entertainment; a banquet. Something
giving great pleasure or satisfaction; a feast for the mind.
Once the wild food has been lovingly dipped, drizzled,
sauteed, torn, tossed and toasted by our fantastic chefs,
we will eat together by fire and candlelight in the Goat Barn or al fresco
depending on the weather and time of day.
Cornwalls mild climate meant that we ate outside on 26th January in 2008.
The gourmet weekends include 3 wild meals cooked by our chefs in Fat Hens
kitchen.
The majority of the wild dishes you will eat will have been demonstrated to you
over the course of the weekend.
The main feast is on Saturday night and the evening begins with hedgerow cocktails
and a series of appetisers streaming out of the kitchen. The evening unfurls
into a three course dinner served with old world wines chosen to match the food.
This is a time to relax and soak up the days events and after dinner we will
have live folk music played by local musicians from The
Tinners Arms session in Zennor.
The evening ends at 11pm with the opportunity to have a taxi service back to
your accommodation with a pick up on Sunday morning. Most people take us up on
this service once they have tried the hedgerow cocktails!
